OXFORD City Stars’ Darren Elliott diverted praise onto his team after winning the Coach of the Year honour.

Elliott led his side to a league and cup double last season, and while this campaign has seen his side struggle, he remains proud of the club’s policies.

“Last season we won the league and the cup and won the sports team of the year here so to pick something up again is just great,” he said.

“We have gone up and it’s a huge step – it’s enormous.

“Some of the teams have massive wage caps and we are really a home-grown team which is very important.

“We have a great club and although this season has been tough, we are giving our all and doing really well considering the teams we are playing against each week.”
