Visitors Rambottom United, from the Northern Premier League outclassed their hosts to win 3-0 in a tie when both sides finished with ten men.

They opened the scoring after five minutes when Dominic Smalley’s deflected cross was knocked home by Jon Robinson.

Banbury went close equaising early in the second half, but Josh Shama’s volley from ten yards was well saved.

It was no great surprise when Ramsbottom doubled their lead, Cedric Krou heading home a cross from the left by Tom Williams.

On the hour it got more difficult for Banbury as Tom Ryan was sent off for a second yellow card.

It was all over as a contest two minutes later when Phil Dean fired past Bedwell to make it 3-0.

Ramsbottom’s Lee Pugh received a straight red card in the 86th minute for a bad challenge on Luke Cray, but it came too late to make any difference.
