Susie Wolff is celebrating after being promoted to test driver for the Grove-based Williams team for the 2015 season.

Stepping up from her previous role as development driver, Wolff takes over from Felipe Nasr who will drive for Sauber.

It means if Valtteri Bottas or teammate Felipe Massa were to miss a race for any reason, the 31-year-old Scot would be first choice for the seat.

“This is another step in the right direction for me,” said Wolff.

“I am delighted Williams are recognising my progression, hard work and it is performance that counts.

“Williams is at a very exciting stage in its history and I’m proud to be part of the team.”
