Lachlan McCaffrey may be a proud Australian, but he has no doubt which match he is focused on this weekend.

McCaffrey, who starts for London Welsh at No 8 against Northampton tomorrow, knows many of the Aussie squad due to spells with the Waratahs, Western Force and Brumbies.

And while his countrymen take on England at Twickenham today, the 24-year-old is keeping his mind on the Exiles’ Kassam Stadium clash.

McCaffrey said: “It’s big game for the Australian guys I guess, but definitely the game for me is on Sunday, up against one of the best teams in the Premiership.

“However, I will definitely wish them all the best for Saturday.”

McCaffrey felt Welsh’s 26-5 home defeat to Leicester gave them something to build on.

“We have started quite poorly a lot of the time this season, so to avoid that was one focus and we did that well,” he said.

“It was just a shame that we fell away a bit in the second half.”
