Tyrone Barnett is hoping he can return to the Oxford United starting line-up tomorrow in place of the injured James Roberts.

The Peterborough loanee has been on the bench for the last three games as Roberts has made the most of his chance, scoring three goals.

But the teenager will miss the trip to Cheltenham Town tomorrow due to a hamstring injury.

Barnett has been impressed by the youngster, but is hoping to be the one to take his shirt.

Latest United news:

“I’d like to think so, but obviously it’s up to the gaffer,” he said.

“Robbo’s taken his opportunity well and I’ve no hard feelings against him.

“He’s earned his right to play and when he’s come in he’s done well, which every young player should look to do.”
