OXFORD City’s men led the club’s successful venture to the Berks, Bucks & Oxon Cross Country Championships at Upton Court Park, Slough.

City won the senior men’s team title to receive what must be one of the largest trophies in British athletics and one dating back more than 100 years.

The biggest individual victories from Oxfordshire came from Headington Road Runners’ Diane Moore, who won the ladies’ title, and City’s under 17 boys’ champion Callum Bampton.

Darrell Bellinger was Oxford’s first man home over the three-lap 5.5-mile course, clocking 29mins 25secs for fourth place overall.
