Oxfordshire's Eddie Pepperell fared far better in yesterday’s second round of the World Tour Championshipin Dubai.

The 23-year-old Abingdon golfer carded a three-under-par score of 69, having shot a 76 on day one.

Pepperell hit six birdies, a bogey and a double bogey in his round as he climbed five places to joint 50th.

Swedish Ryder Cup player Henrik Stenson led the way on ten-under-par, with first round leader Rory McIlroy two shots back.
