Bicester Blue Fins’ under 10 boys celebrated four victories as the club finished fourth at the Amersham Novice Gala.

Harry Wynne-Jones and Zac Powell swam up an age category and combined with Freddy Bunce and Matthew Cooper to win the 4x25m freestyle and medley relays.

Bunce stormed the 50m freestyle to win by two seconds in a personal best time of 38.03secs, while Wynne-Jones won the under 9 25m butterfly in 18.60.

Caitlin Wheatley was the star of the show as Abingdon Vale won 134 medals at the City of Milton Keynes open meet.

The 17-year-old took a clean sweep of ten golds in her non-specialist butterfly events.

Nienke Lijzenga, 16, took seven golds, one silver and one bronze, and Niall O’Leary, 18, had four golds and a silver, setting 400m IM and 200m butterfly club records in the process.

Younger swimmers also mopped up, with Josh Roche, 11, taking a gold, four silvers and four bronzes.

Luke Wilby, 14, won two golds, five silvers and a bronze, and Rhian Casey, 13, who collected four golds, and two silvers.
