Fighters from Wantage Taekwondo School won five gold medals at the UK Taekwondo Championships at the Guildford Spectrum.

The gold rush was among 13 medals the Wantage club collected, making them one of the most successful of the 60-plus schools.

Carl Davis led the way with gold in -71kg adult male black belt sparring.

He also took silver in black belt patterns and picked up the overall cup from the London Championship after going undefeated in 2014 for sparring.

Gabriella Rhodes completed Wantage’s quintet of gold medallists by winning the under 14 -150cm female colour belt sparring.
