FIVE more Oxford Rugby League players have re-signed with the club for the new Kingstone Press League 1 season.

Back-row forward Andrew Hoggins, prop Tom Davies, prop/loose forward Luke Evans, centre Marcus Brooker and hooker Rory Sharratt have all put pen to paper.

Team manager Ryan Cousins said: “Sharratt was one of our most consistent performers last season and is turning into a leader.

“He delivers the ball well and is strong around the ruck.”

German international Hoggins was Oxford’s most improved player for 2014.

“No question I wasn’t going to re-sign for Oxford for the third year,” he said.

Davies, who joined from Coventry Bears, played 15 times in his debut season.

Evans bounced back well from a broken ankle, making eight appearances from his less favoured position of prop.

He said “I am looking forward to continuing where I left off last season and felt I was just getting going by having a regular run in the team.”

Brooker was an ever-present last season after joining from local rivals University of Gloucestershire All Golds.
