OXFORD Hawks made it three wins out of four in South League Premier 1 with a hard-earned 4-2 victory at home to Spencer.

George Creed put the hosts ahead, but a breakaway score from a Hawks short corner led to Spencer's equaliser.

Kit Cutter then gave Hawks an interval lead with his third goal of the season from close range after a well constructed passing move.

Spencer rallied in the second half but it was Hawks who made it 3-1, Dan Rhodes getting on the end of a great ball into the circle from Jack Biggs.

The visitors made it 3-2 to set up a tense finish, before skipper Ethan Chapman, on his return to the team, fired in a reverse-stick shot to close the game out for Hawks.

Wallingford secured their first victory in Regional League Division 1 with a 3-1 win away to Staines 2nd.

The visitors’ hopes were raised when Rich Green crossed to Max Cater-Keal, who gave them a first-half lead.

A defensive mistake saw Staines equalise, but Wallingford, despite twice being reduced to ten men, retained control and further goals from Sam Windsor-Lewis and Rich Hawson saw them collect all three points.

Ben Wilson scored a hat-trick as Oxford Hawks 2nd won 5-0 at PHC Chiswick.

Ben Roe and Louis Yates completed the tally.

Witney kept up their fine start to the season with a 2-0 success at home to Slough in Regional Division 2.

After a goalless first half, Witney took the lead, Justin Churchill sniffing one home from all of three inches.

The prolific Mike Godwin hit a post before sealing the result with Witney's second following a fine move.

They are now fourth in the table just two points behind the leaders.

Bicester suffered their second defeat of their Middlesex Berks, Bucks & Oxon Division 1 campaign, when they went down 5-2 away to West Hampstead 3rd.

The visitors scored from the first short corner of the match and soon made it 2-0.

Bicester hit back with a goal from Luke Smith, fashioned expertly by Stuart Locke.

Dave Sutcliffe levelled the scores from another fine move, before Hamspstead made it 3-2 at half-time.

The home side dictated the second half and scored two late goals to seal a comfortable win.
