North Berks League Division 2 leaders Stanford in the Vale suffered a surprise second-round exit at the hands of Division 3 side Hungerford Town Swifts in the second round of the Berks & Bucks Junior Cup.

Jamie Gregory’s goal for Stanford was cancelled out by Garth Franklin in normal time, before the visitors went on to win 3-1, courtesy of Aidan Maycock and Tommy Stockwell strikes in extra time.

Division 5 Wallingford Town Res took Steventon of Division 2 to extra time, but were beaten 4-3, thanks to Adam Oram (2) and goals from Shaun Bray and Phil Margetts.

Faringdon Town Res and Sutton Courtenay were tied at 1-1 after 90 minutes, but the home side ran out 5-2 winners after extra-time.

East Hendred of Division 2 needed extra time and penalties to see off Division 4 side Uffington United after they were held to a 2-2 draw.

Liam McCullough and Ben Sutton scored for the visitors, but goals from Pete Byrne and Ian Moore for Uffington took the game to penalties, with Hendred triumphing 5-4. A James Head hat-trick, an Adam Sly double and a Shane Blake strike gave Coleshill United a comfortable 6-1 home win over Hanney 66 Club, for whom Darren Hutchings scored.

Grove Rangers lost 4-0 at Lamb-ourn Sports with Mark Mooney netting twice alongside efforts from Sam Conners and Damien Harris.

Dan Barnes and Stuart Armstrong grabbed braces as Marcham won 5-2 at home to Blewbury.

Matt Banks also scored for the hosts, with Boyan Thorpe getting both of Blewbury’s goals.

Matt Woodside also struck twice as Hanney United defeated Hagbourne United 4-2, with a James Bishop effort and an own goal sealing it for the hosts.

Hagbourne replied through Mason Churton and Tom Churton.

Hellenic League Division 2 West side Letcombe Res were beaten 3-1 at Kintbury Rangers Res as Alastair Shambrook bagged a double and Luke Conner also netted, with Adam Claydon replying.
