CALLUM Convey’s 80th-minute penalty gave Ardley United a thrilling 4-3 home win over Abingdon United in the Uhlsport Hellenic League Premier Division.

He drilled home his spot-kick after Troy Bryan was brought down by Mark Threlfall, who was sent off for a second yellow card offence.

Jon Gardner had curled a shot wide of debutant keeper Josh Hill to give Ardley the lead after 30 seconds.

Luke Ingram doubled the hosts’ lead with a low shot after 37 minutes, but Anaclet Odhiambo scored twice early in the second half to haul Abingdon level.
