John Mills took his season’s tally to 15 goals with a double as ten-man Didcot fought back for victory at Clevedon in Division 1 South & West on Saturday.

It stretched the Railwaymen’s unbeaten run to three matches and moved them up to seventh in the table.

The visitors started brightly, but had a lucky escape when Joe Teall’s header was superbly stopped by James Foster and Omari Sims fired the rebound over.

However, on 35 minutes the hosts went in front when a mistake from Didcot defender Luke Carnell allowed Aron Robbins to fire past Foster.

Didcot turned up the pressure and seven minutes later levelled.

Pablo Haysham set up Mills (pictured) who beat Kane Mannings in the Clevedon goal for his 14th goal of the campaign.

And it got better for Didcot early in the second half.

Haysham passed the ball the path of Sam Elkins who fired past a helpless Mannings.

However, nine minutes later, Teall tapped in his second from close range to level.

Didcot should have restored their lead when Haysham was brought down by Charlie Hutchings, with the Clevedon man receiving only got a yellow card.

However, Mike McKirnan blasted the resulting penalty over the bar.

The Railwaymen restored their lead on 72 minutes when Mills bagged goal No 15 from his last nine games with a tidy finish.

Haysham thought he had scored a minute later, but the goal was disallowed for offside.

But almost immediately Haysham put away a cross from substitute Josh Dutton-Black.

Late on, Elkins was sent off following an off-the-ball incident with Kyle Thomas, but it made little difference as Didcot eased in.

Didcot Tn: Foster, Elkins, Organ, Self, Carnell, Learoyd, McKirnan (Whitehead 80), Baines, Mills (Heapy 90), Longford (Dutton-Black 66).

Attendance: 92.
