SIMI Fajemisin won triple jump gold in the Under 15/17 South of England Track & Field Championships at Crystal Palace.

The Oxford City athlete triumphed in the under 17 girls’ event with a new best distance of 12.16m.

Fajemisin, who is the English Schools intermediate long jump champion, is now also ranked ninth in the UK under 17 triple jump standings.

Radley athletes claimed three medals in the same championships.

Luisa Chantler Edmond led the way with a silver in the under 17 girls’ shot put, where she threw 12.83m to go 11th in the UK rankings.

She backed this up with a bronze in the discus after a personal best effort of 39.34m.

Clubmate Alice Hopkins beat her previous best three times to take bronze in the under 17 girls’ long jump.

Hopkins’s mark of 5.53m was just 6cm short of silver and took her to 16th in the UK rankings.

Petrina Chantler Ed-mond also competed, with a new best of 4.63m securing her 17th place in the under 15 girls’ long jump.

ABINGDON veteran Duncan Talbot has marked his return from two years out injured by winning four golds and three silvers in a week.

Talbot opened up with a vet 60 high jump silver medal in the British Masters Championships at Birmingham with a leap of 1.40m.

He then excelled in the UK Civil Service Masters Championships at Woodside Stadium, Watford, with four golds and two silvers.

Competing for the Department of Work and Pensions (DWP), Talbot won the high jump in 1.45m, which was a new vet 60 Southern Counties record.

He added golds in the triple jump (8.39m), long jump (3.97m) and 100m (15.05secs) – with all efforts at least Abingdon age group records.

Talbot completed his set with silvers in the 200m (30.50) and 4x100m relay.
