Black Prince boasted a trio of six-hitters in their 2-1 home win over Red Lion A Eynsham in Premier/Section 1 of the Greene King Oxford & District League, writes ANDY BEAL.

Chris Price, Carl Edginton and Darren Grant did the damage for Black Prince, who lost the opening leg 27-20, but came back to take the next two 29-22, 26-24.

Francis Hillier was the week’s top scorer with his 15 dolls including a six, as Cricketers B fought backto beat Rose Hill Club A 2-1.

A good set of 27 gave Rose Hill an early lead, but the Cricketers levelling by taking the next 25-24, before breezing past Rose Hill’s 25 with a chase of 29.

Liam Purcell (4-4-6) shone for Rose Hill with 14 dolls.

Garsington Sports Club A had a fine 2-1 win at home to Three Pigeons.

They tookthe first two legs in style 31-24, 31-25, before Three Pigeons prevented a whitewash by taking the last 31-22.

Three Pigeons’ Neil Lyon (4-6-4) top-scored with 14 dolls.

Section 2 leaders Six Bells Quarry got back to winning ways with a 2-1 victory at Team Monarch after losing their unbeaten record last week.

The first leg was tied 21-21, with Team Monarch winning it on three sticks.

But Six Bells took the next two 22-18, 23-20 to take victory.

Team Monarch’s Darren Cox (5-5-4) took the individual honours with 14 dolls.

Ampleforth Arms A moved to within a point of the leaders after a 3-0 win at Three Horseshoes A.

Rob Bradford (3-5-5) led the way with 13 dolls as they took maximum points, with leg scores of 22-20, 25-17, 23-21.

Woodman chalked up their sixth successive win with a 3-0 victory at Red Lion B Eynsham to continue their climb up the table.

The opening leg had to be decided on three sticks after it was tied 23-23, and then the Woodman completed victory in the next two 27-23, 22-20.

Simon King (6-4-4) threw well for the Red Lion to post 14 dolls.

Anchor man Willy Waite was Section 3 leaders Bullnose Morris’s hero in a 2-1 win at Chequers B.

After taking the first leg 14-12, Chequers set 14 and the visitors had to rely on Waite to whip off the four dolls needed to tie the leg, before they went on to win it on three sticks.

And, once again, Waite came to Bullnose’s rescue by knocking off the three dolls needed to win the leg and the game.

In Section 4, Billy Munnelly’s rare six could not prevent Cowley Workers going down 2-1 to George A.

Leaders Queens Head lost 2-1 at home to second-placed Masons B, with both teams hitting 52 dolls.

Section 6 is so tight only four points separate nine of the ten teams.

James Ormrod clanged off his first six, but it could not prevent Red Lion C Eynsham going down 2-1 at home to Seacourt Bridge.

Danny Brown (3-4-4) top-scored for Seacourt with 11 dolls.

Seamus O’Malley (3-3-4) led the way with ten dolls as Section 7 leaders Six Bells B won 3-0 at home to Prince of Wales.

Paul Grant (3-4-4) hit double figures for the first time this season in Section 9 leaders King Arms A’s 3-0 home victory over Littlemore Rugby Club.
