MICHAEL Appleton hopes Oxford United's efforts in the Capital One Cup last night are rewarded with an attractive tie when the second round draw is made this evening.
Goals from Carlton Morris and Danny Hylton saw the U's come from behind to win 2-1 at Sky Bet League One side Bristol City.
The upset at Ashton Gate means Appleton's men will face either a Premier League side not in playing in Europe this season, or one of the remaining Championship teams.
The biggest draw are Manchester United and Appleton, who began his playing career at the club, admitted it would be the dream tie.
But the U's head coach would be happy with any big name after the heroics last night.
He said: "Manchester United would be the obvious one, but every single team in the draw will be after that.
"It will just be a great opportunity for the players to be rewarded by going and having a good game somewhere."
The draw will be made after tonight's game between Coventry City and Cardiff City.
