TWO tries from Jonny Morris proved in vain as Oxford Cavaliers lost 44-28 at Valley Cougars.

Kristian Ancil, Andy Winfield and Wes Newton also went over for Cavaliers, while Winfield kicked four conversions.

Dafydd Hellard scored a hat-trick of tries for Cougars, who are based in Penalta, south Wales.

Danyl Davies, Mike Connor, Yousif Sullaman, Lee Goddard and Darryl Carter also went over, with Paul Emanuelli converting six.

OXFORD Cavaliers are seeking new players to help resurrect their A team.

Cavaliers had to pull their second side out of the West of England Premier League due to dwindling numbers.

But they are now holding taster sessions at their Oxford RFC base, starting on Tuesday, July 8.

Anyone aged 18 and upwards can turn up at 7pm. For more information on the club, visit their website pitchero.com/clubs/oxfordcavaliersrlfc/
