Frilford Heath’s Eddie Pepperell shot a level par 72 in the first round at Koln yesterday.

It saw the Oxfordshire ace take a share of 85th place, seven shots off the lead.

Spain’s Rafa Cabrera-Bello shares the lead with playing partner, England’s Danny Willett, after both shot eight- under-par 64s for a two-stroke lead over the chasing pack.
