HUSBAND and wife David and Jessica Bruce, from Oxford, both secured top-three finishes at the Man v Horse race in Llanwrtyd Wells, Wales.
The 23-mile off-road race sees runners set off first, with the horses in pursuit.
David came third in the individual men’s category, clocking 2hrs 56mins 13secs, and was beaten by seven horses.
Jessica (3.33.04) was second in the equivalent ladies’ event, which was won by multiple world ironman champion Chrissie Wellington.
With Jessica’s Headington Road Runners clubmate Arthur Walton (4.08.45) completing the line-up, the trio won the team prize.
White Horse Harriers’ Paul Jegou finished 15th and third vet 40 man in 3.24.29.
