OXFORD United will start their Sky Bet League Two 2014-15 campaign with a home match against Burton Albion.

Gary Waddock’s side will entertain the Brewers on Saturday, August 9 at the Kassam Stadium after the season’s fixtures were announced this morning.

United end with an away trip to Newport County, but are at home on Boxing Day when Shrewsbury are the visitors.

The two matches against former boss Chris Wilder’s Northampton side are both midweek – United travelling to the Cobblers on Tuesday, October 21, with the return match on Tuesday, April 14.

Other games over the Christmas period see United on the road for two long away trips on December 20 (Hartlepool) and December 28 (Plymouth).

They host Cheltenham on January 3. The Easter programme sees Waddock take his side to former club Wycombe Wanderers on April 4 and then host York City on Monday 6.

The way things are going at the moment, we'll be bottom of the League by the end of August and will stay there for the rest of the season. It appears that no-one wants to sign for us, and those that do are players no-one else would touch with a bargepole.

Good looking list for us. However when you go down the teams, it certainly is going to be a harder league to get out of this year, Some of the fancied teams last year..Pompey, Plymouth Southend etc have appeared to have strengthened well. While Luton are bound to be up there. Cambridge have been spending good money as well. Sadly, we missed our real chance last year. Never mind as long as we have eleven players by August, bring on Burton.

Why do we need eleven new players? Meades will be like a new player for us.

No 'new players' mentioned, I'm just worried that we will be able to field a full team
