TWO tries from Joe Collins helped Oxford Cavaliers battle to a 20-18 home victory over Leicester Storm.

Cavaliers are now level on eight points with second-placed Nottingham Outlaws, who were beaten 42-10 at Valley Cougars.

Tries from Collins and Wes Newton earned Oxford an 8-6 half-time lead.

They went 14-6 and 20-12 up in the second period, but ended up having to hold on as Leicester refused to give in.

Yannick Parker and Collins went over after the break, with Andy Winfield converting both tries.

Cavaliers’ next match is away to Valley Cougars on Saturday, June 28.
