Headington A won 5-1 at South Oxford A to return to the top of Division 1 in the Oxford & District League, sponsored by Yarnton Nurseries.

The success was cemented by Howard Watts’s rink, who chalked up a 35-10 win in the 108-65 scoreline.

Witney Mills drop to second place after losing 4-2 at Carterton.

Paul Sharman and David Clanfield posted convincing wins on two rinks as Carterton triumphed 62-46.

Shiplake won 4-2 at home to Oxford City & County A, with Barry Lambourne’s rink winning 26-11 against Chris Earl to secure the points.

Banbury Chestnuts remain top of Division 2 after winning 4-2 at second-placed West Witney.

Alan Wase led the way with a 25-15 win as Chestnuts edged home 73-70.

Watlington moved up to second after a 4-2 victory at home to Chipping Norton.

Gordon Hooker’s rink set the standard for Watlington with a 27-12 win.

Bicester eased to a 5-1 home victory over Charlbury.

Jim Stevens prevented a whitewash with a 20-19 success.

The Oxford replaced Adderbury at the top of Division 3 after a 5-1 home win over Blackbird Leys.

Paul Ilott, Gary Watts and Denis Sims were winning skips for the hosts in a 80-65 scoreline.

Meanwhile, Adderbury slipped to a 5-1 defeat at Headington B. A 27-17 win for Russell Edwards’s rink saw Headington home 90-83.

Oxford City & County B triumphed 4-2 at home to Witney Town.

With two rinks tied, and Brian Bloomfield’s side winning 15-14 for Witney, it was a 19-15 victory for Graham Kerr’s rink which gave the match points to the home team.

Tom McKenna skipped the week’s star rink with his side winning 38-10 in Banbury Central B’s 4-2 victory at Kidlington.
