DIDCOT karter Elliot Harvey took the honours with a thrilling last-lap victory in the x30 Tour at the Pfi circuit in Grantham.
In Saturday’s practice session, the St Birinus School pupil was never out of the top three, despite running old tyres.
And in the three heats on Sunday’s race day, 12-year-old Harvey finished second, first and second, which gave him pole position for the final in which got off to a good start before being passed by main rival Dan McAuley. In a thrilling last lap of the 15-minute race, the lead changed hands at every corner, with Harvey finally crossing the line in first place.
It sets him up for the third round next week.
