Oxford City will take their time in looking for a new manager.

Managing director Colin Taylor said that the club have already received a number of applicants since news of Mike Ford’s departure was announced on Wednesday evening.

And it is now a case of waiting to see which league they are in before the club step up their search.

“We are considering our options,” Taylor said.

“It’s obviously very early stages, but we have already have a number of applicants for the job – which we knew we would.”

City secured their Skill North survival in the penultimate game of the season, but must now wait to see which division they are put in for next season.

They were the most southern side in their division, but with three teams from further north coming down from Skrill Premier, they must wait and see whether they switch to the south section next year.

“Clearly which division we are in could have a big say in who the next manager is, among many other things,” Taylor added.

“It will depend on what players we go for – and it would not be fair to make any decision without knowing that sort of basic information first.

“It will probably be a week or so before that comes to light, so we will be in a better position to know where we stand then.”
