THAME A cruised to victory in the Gentworks Oxford & District Billiards League’s prestigious Stephen Reiss Cup final.
The Division 2 leaders recorded a 4-1 success over a battling Fieldside outfit.
Fieldside began well as Bob Chivers (-30) accounted for Thame’s Paul Evans (+10) 200-164, thanks to three 20-plus breaks.
But Russell Jones (+90) wrested back the initiative for Thame with a 200-84 success over Paul Robinson (-50), whose 24 was the biggest break of the match.
Brendan Ensoll (+90) sealed the victory for Thame, beating low handicapper Simon Aries (-70) 200-118.
He also ensured Thame got an extra two points for winning on aggregate 564-402.
