Oxford Sports completed a club double by clinching the Thames Valley League Ladies’ Division 1 championship with a crushing 7-1 win away to Portcullis.
Sports have already taken the Men’s top-flight title.
Virgin Active defeated Abingdon 6-2 to finish runners-up in Ladies Division 1.
Witney Ladies B were given a scare by their own C team.
Needing three sets to gain promotion from Division 4, they were pegged back to a 5-3 win, which means they will start next season in Division 3.
l NORTH Oxford made a convincing start to their campaign in the Aegon Premier League men’s regional competition, triumphing 6-0 at Salisbury.
Tom Dyakowski led the way with a 6-0, 6-4 win against Rory Smith.
Jack Rooney dropped only one game winning at No 2 and Thomas Bowden and James Bradley-Watson also recorded comfortable victories.
The doubles was tighter, but Rooney & Dyakowski won 6-4, 6-2 and Bowden & Bradley-Watson battled home 6-4, 7-6 to maintain their 100 per cent record.
l LARA Frank (North Oxford) defeated the top seed Rachel Cranley 4-2, 4-2 to win the 12 & under girls title at the grade four junior tournament in Goring.
Sam Christie, from Goring, and aged only 13, won his first 16 & under boys event.
After defeating second seed Harry Neate 6-4, 7-5, Christie held his nerve to beat top seed Henry Lidington 6-3, 6-7 and then 10-3 in the final set tie-break.
