OXFORD MCCU were bowled out for 102 in their first innings on a rain-interrupted second day against Notts in The Parks.
But they hit back in the closing stages by capturing two Notts second-innings wickets as the first-class county finished on 30-2, a lead of 168.
Resuming on 30-2, the students were always struggling for runs and were indebted to Lloyd Paternott, who held the innings together with a half-century.
Charles Morris sent back former England player Samit Patel for 14 when Notts batted again, while Riki Wessels fell to Sam Weller.
