Wantage trainer Henry Candy could step Dinkum Diamond up in class after his charge made a winning reappearance at Doncaster.
The six-year-old was backed down from 20-1 to 12-1 before landing the William Hill - Bet On The Move Cammidge Trophy on Saturday by a length from Captain Ramius under rising star Oisin Murphy.
It was a second Listed Race success for the horse, and his first over six furlongs.
Kingston Warren handler Candy said: “I have to say it has slightly took me by surprise, but I don’t see any reason why he shouldn’t stick around in Group 3s.”
Dinkum Diamond is ridden regularly by Wantage-based jockey Cathy Gannon, who is sidelined with a shoulder injury.
And Murphy said: “My heart goes out to Cathy Gannon because it is her ride.”
