SKY BET LEAGUE TWO

ANDY Whing and David Connolly are in line for recalls to the Oxford United starting line-up in east London today.

The pair missed Monday’s 3-0 defeat at Southend United, where Whing, pictured below, was an unused substitute and Connolly came on for the final ten minutes.

Both had stood out in the 1-0 win against Hartlepool United three days earlier, but were not ready to play two games in quick succession.

The decision means the pair are fresh and U’s head coach Gary Waddock is looking at both to face Dagenham & Redbridge.

He said: “I had to protect them. Friday was Whingy’s first game for some time.

“He trained on the Sunday and had to step out of it.

“I wasn’t going to take a risk with him, but he will come into contention for Dagenham to start.

“Connolly also felt a little bit tired, with a few bumps and bruises and I didn’t want to risk him as well, again he will come into contention.”

Dave Kitson is back in training after his hamstring injury, but is unlikely to be ready, while Johnny Mullins (foot) is out for the season.

Tom Newey completes his three-game ban, while there could be a change in the back four, with Michael Raynes pushing to start.

Dagenham top scorer Rhys Murphy misses out with a groin injury, while winger Zavon Hines has a serious knee injury.

Winger Blair Turgott is set to make his debut after joining from West Ham on loan this week.
