ANGLING: Groundhog day down on the canal

MAURICE Winstone made it two wins out of two in North Oxford AS’s closed season canal series on the Oxford Canal at Frenchay Road.

For the second week running, Winstone drew an end peg and caught roach and perch on bread and maggot to top the field with 7lb 5.0oz.

Antony Tomkins weighed in 4.7.0 of perch and skimmers on worm and bread for second place, followed by Ian Fisher with a similar bag for 4.1.0.

Sixteen fished.
