OXFORD MAIL GIRLS LEAGUE

UNDER 16/17

LEAGUE leaders Oxford Bluebirds Under 16s continued their fine form with a 7-2 home victory over Kennington Under 17s.

Jessica Wild twice levelled for the visitors in the first half to cancel out efforts from Ollie Brown and Georgina Tayman, but they were outgunned as Blanche Mayo restored Bluebirds’ lead before the break.

And Bluebirds pressed home their advantage in the second half with a deluge of four goals in ten minutes.

Brown and Mayo each added to their earlier strikes, while Kiera Isaac also netted a quickfire brace.

Oxford City Under 15s reached the final of the Oxfordshire Under 16 County Cup for the third consecutive season with a 3-1 victory over Kidlington Under 15s.

Dara Austin tapped in from close range to give the hosts an early lead, with Lauren Page doubling the advantage.

City made it 3-0 just three minutes after the break through Shelley Knight, before Emily Young pulled one back for Kidlington with a tap-in from Casey Brennan’s pass.
