Chipping Norton trainer Charlie Longsdon could aim Pete The Feat at the Betfred Midlands Grand National at Uttoxeter on Saturday, March 15 after his charge blotted his copybook at Newbury at the weekend.
A veterans’ handicap chase at the Berkshire course was meant to be the ten-year-old’s trial for the Crabbie’s Grand National at Aintree.
But the outing proved inconlusive as Pete The Feat unseated Noel Fehily at the 12th fence.
Longsdon reported: “We will see how he is over the next couple of days, but he might well get an entry for the Midlands National in a couple of weeks.”
