OXFORD Hawks battled out a goalless draw against Swansea in Conference West at Banbury Road North.
The home side started well, piling on some early pressure, but despite Swansea being reduced to nine for a short period, Hawks could not break through. Katie Hewitt went closest in the first half during a goalmouth scramble.
After the break, Hawks stepped up another gear, winning several short corners, but a combination of solid defending and ill luck kept the scores level. They hit the woodwork and later, Lucy Stewart’s reverse-stick flick went agonisingly wide. At the other end, home keeper Jess Hudson made a number of top-class saves to keep the scores level.
The point leaves Hawks in fourth place with a game in hand on most of their rivals.
