North Leigh may be forced to postpone tonight’s Calor League Division 1 South & West home game with Thatcham Town due to a floodlight problem.

Although the pitch is heavy but playable, high winds have twisted one of the floodlights around, so it is facing into a field.

“I’d have to say the match is looking unlikely,” said manager Mark Gee.

“It seems to be one thing after another. One is facing into a field and another is full of water, so that could blow any time.

“We need the equipment to turn it the right way which needs to be on a solid base, but the ground is so saturated you can’t get on it.”

North Leigh will be at full strength should the game take place.

Didcot Town boss Ian Concannon says he will not accept a poor display when they travel to Evesham United.

He said: “We just want to be playing again and we don’t want to use it (the lay-off) as an excuse for a poor performance.

“They are four points above us, but it’s a winnable game and we can do that through grit and determination.

“We need to be getting at least a point, if not three.”

Didcot will be without Kameron Abbassi (hamstring) and Lance Williams (ankle).

Evesham officials are hopeful that the game will go ahead and are not planning a pitch inspection.
