Tom Bristow will start for London Welsh at Cornish Pirates tomorrow after rejoining the club on loan from Leicester Tigers (3.45).

Bristow, who made 33 appearances for Welsh last season, replaces Nathan Trevett at loosehead prop.

The match, which is being shown live on Sky Sports, is subject to a pitch inspection at 8.20am today.

Former Pirate Ian Nimmo comes in at lock for Pete Browne, while Nick Scott is preferred to Alan Awcock on the wing.

Back-row forward Dan Browne is back on the bench for Welsh after being out with injury since November 30.

The Exiles beat Pirates 41-6 at the Kassam Stadium in October, but assistant coach Gordon Ross expects a tougher battle this time.

“We know that Cornish Pirates are a very proud team,” said Ross. “They always up their game when they play the top teams.”

Will Robinson’s good form at fly half means Ross is less likely to play at the moment, but the former Scotland international has no problem with that.

“Will has now played over half a dozen games and each week he is getting better and better,” he said.

“I am quite happy sitting in the stands with a cup of coffee if the team are scoring 40 points.”

Triple Oxford Blue Alex Cheesman starts at openside flanker for Pirates.

Captain and blindside Chris Morgan makes his 150th appearance for the club, with Laurie McGlone returning at No 8.

Lock Will Carrick-Smith, who was on loan at Welsh from Exeter earlier in the season, comes in on the bench after agreeing a similar deal with Pirates.
