Banbury United manager Edwin Stein has urged his side to cut out the silly bookings ahead of tomorrow’s scheduled trip to Weymouth.

Stein said his eighth-placed side would be knocking on the door of the Calor League Premier Division play-offs were it not for their poor disciplinary record.

“With a small squad, you can’t keep missing these players,” said Stein.

“We’ve had so many suspensions and it’s a joke. It has harmed us, you can see that by looking at the stats.

“When you lose people like Wayne Blossom, Kynan Isaac and Scott Bridges, sooner or later you will feel the negative effect of that.

“I think there is a bit of naivety from the players, but I think the referees should show a bit more common sense, because some of the bookings have been beyond belief.

“But, no doubt about it, we would be much higher up the table were it not for these suspensions.”

Banbury will be without Isaac (suspended), while Leon Simpson faces a late fitness test on a shin injury.

Wayne Blossom is back from a ban.

Officials at Weymouth are hopeful the game will be on.

Didcot Town joint manager Ian Concannon will prepare his side as normal ahead of their trip to Fleet Town in Division 1 South & West.

“We don’t want to give the players the day off because we don’t want to be caught out if the game is on.

“As a player, it’s disappointing when you get the phone call on Saturday morning saying a game is off, but you just have to get on with it.”

A pitch inspection is planned for 9am tomorrow at Calthorpe Park.

Didcot will be without injured duo of Lance Williams (ankle) and Kameron Abbassi (hamstring), while Jack Longford (knee) has a late test. North Leigh’s trip to Evesham United looks in serious doubt.

Evesham’s club secretary Roger Westmacott said: “There are puddles all over the pitch and with the rain predicted prospects are very slim.”
