ROSE Hill Community Centre stretched their lead in Section 1 after coming from behind to win 5-4 at home to Cowley Workers.

Geordie Grant, Simon Tricker (180), Terry Wood (180), Ray Pape and Tony Allday did the damage after Simon Powell had put the visitors in front. Cowley took the pairs 3-0 to narrow the deficit.

Marlborough Club stayed second despite losing 5-4 at home to Premier leaders Goodlake Arms A.

It allowed Peachcroft Social Club to stay in touch, thanks to a 6-3 win at Kidlington Green Social Club A.

Cricketers Arms A were the big winners in Section 3, thrashing Chequers Inn B 7-2 at home.

Martin Andrews and Darren Spires provided a good start and there were also wins for John Goodenough, Chris Souch (180) and Chris Myers.

Harry Jenkins replied for Chequers, who lost the pairs 2-1.

Crown Inn claimed their their first away win of the Section 5 season with a 5-4 success at Nuffield Bar A.

Black Horse B stunned Ladies Section 2 leaders Six Bells C with a 6-3 home win.

Alison Russell and Val Jarvis put them a 2-0 up. Bells captain Cheryl French pulled one back, but Wendy Plowman and Holly Lord made it 4-1 to the hosts.

Pat Booker kept the leaders’ hopes alive, but a 2-1 pairs win saw Black Horse claim a surprise result.
