Oxford Hawks missed a host of chances and paid the price in a 4-1 defeat away to Old Georgians in Premier Division 1 of the South League on Saturday.

The visitors started brightly, moving the ball around well and Kit Cutter saw a shot go just wide before the home side took the lead from a well-worked short corner.

Old Georgians made it 2-0 early in the second half and although Hawks created four short corners, they failed to trouble the keeper and fell further behind.

The visitors pulled one back with 12 minutes left when Andy Seiman converted a penalty flick after a stick tackle in the D.

However, a fourth Georgians goal five minutes from time sealed their fate.

Oxford University won a ten-goal thriller 6-4 against Sutton Valence. Their goals came via Alex Stobbart (2), Rupert Allison, Tom Chadwick, Cameron Deans and Oliver Sugg.

Oxford Hawks 2nd remain bottom of Premier Division 2 after a 4-1 reverse at home to Banbury, Dan Andrews getting their crumb of comfort.

Witney remain third from bottom in MBBO Regional Division 1 following a 5-2 defeat at Maidenhead. Tim Hardy and Jacob Deacon were on target.
