Only four fish were caught by the ten anglers fishing the Oxfordshire Pike Anglers Club Memorial Shield at Horseshoe Lake, Lechlade.
Extra water that had gone into the lake and a hard frost made conditions hard.
Best fish of the day was a pike of 13.0.0 caught by Vince Williams on a float-fished dead roach.
A 7.2.0 pike fell to Norman Dearlove, while Tony Hallatt caught a 3lb pike and 1.0.8 perch.
Angling Times journalist Gary Newman is guest speaker at the club’s next meeting at Oxford City Football Club next Thursday (7.30pm).
Meanwhile, the charity pike match scheduled for Sunday, February 2 at Linear Fishery has been cancelled due to the high water levels at the Stanton Harcourt venue.
Best Oxon PAC fish so far this season – biggest stillwater pike: Rob Orton 24.8.0, biggest river pike: Martin Allen 12.0.0, junior trophy: Ryan Styles 11.2.0.
