Chipping Norton-based jockey Charlie Deutsch renewed his successful association with Fitandproperjob when the pair combined to claim victory at Leicester yesterday.
The eight-year-old gelding, trained by Anthony Middleton at Culworth, near Banbury, has a special place in the teenage rider’s affections, having provided him with his first winner under National Hunt Rules when scoring at Folkestone in December 2012.
Deutsch had only ridden Fitandproperjob once since then when he was pulled up at Market Rasen last July.
But the son of Helissio was in peak form yesterday as he romped home by ten lengths for Deutsch in a handicap chase over an extended two and a half miles.
