North Leigh’s woes continued as they slumped to their sixth Calor League Division 1 South & West defeat in a row, with a 1-0 home reverse against Taunton Town on Saturday An inability to finish and a super display from Taunton keeper Joe Perry was the Millers’ undoing.
The hosts started the stronger and should have scored early on, but Perry kept out Morgan Williams’s powerful shot, with Brian Bowles hitting the rebound against a post.
After the break, Williams was twice denied by Perry, firstly keeping out his free-kick, before blocking the next effort.
Kieren Sanders saw a shot tipped over by Perry.
However, the Millers paid the price when Lewis Tasker’s shot looped over keeper Adam McHugh for Taunton’s winner.
The Millers tried to get an equaliser, but the hosts held on.
