Ryan Brooks bagged a double as Ardley United extended their lead at the top of the Uhlsport Hellenic League Premier Division to five points with a 3-0 home win against Flackwell Heath.

Brooks opened his account on three minutes with a neat shot, while at the other end, Joe Blount headed against the bar.

Ardley made it 2-0 on 32 minutes when Stuart Bridges fired home from 25 yards. On 78 minutes, Brooks completed his brace, with a composed finish for his 29th goal of the season.

Third-placed Wantage Town edged to a 1-0 win at Bracknell Town, thanks to a 35th-minute goal from Richie Guy.

The result saw Wantage move to within six points of the top, but with three games in hand.

Shrivenham boosted their survival chances with a 2-1 victory at home to Newbury, with goals from Nathan Blackford and Daniel Drewett. Bradley Shaw pulled one back, but Shrivenham held on.

Abingdon United’s recent good run ended in a 3-1 defeat at Highmoor Ibis.

Ben Lyden (2), and Steven Peacock netted, with Matthew Woodley replying for the visitors.

Jack Quainton scored the winner for Kidlington in a 2-1 home success against Reading Town.

Mike Duerden put the hosts ahead, only for James Clark to level before Quainton sealed it.

Division 1 East leaders AFC Hinksey won 2-1 at Burnham, despite having keeper Jon Beames sent off in the first half for handling outside the area.

Tom Williams had put the hosts ahead, before Anaclet Odhiambo and Stevie Haines completed the turnaround for the ten men.
