I am starting on a sad note this week. As most of you know, Maria De Villota passed away two weeks ago.

It was very sad, especially following everything she had been through with losing her right eye in an accident.

I, unfortunately, never got to meet her, but she supported me via twitter and Facebook, and I would receive nice messages of “Good Luck” or “Congratulations”, from her from time to time.

Maria also promoted Women In Motorsport, fantastically, and also the safety of the sport. She will be missed by many.

We also lost Sean Edwards last week, who was killed in an accident while instructing in Australia. Sean was a top, top driver, leading the Porsche Supercup Championship.

Like Maria, I never met Sean, but I was told he was a lovely guy and hugely talented. Rest in Peace Maria and Sean.

This weekend it is the final race in the F3 Cup season.

I am jointly leading the championship and I have two races in which I need to beat my rivals.

The past few races have been very tough as we have lost some pace in the car over over recent weekends.

One of the problems is that I am racing a Toyota engine.

That is a good 30-plus kg heavier than my nearest rivals, who race either Honda or Volkswagen engines.

The circuits we have been to recently have not agreed with the weight of this engine. I am swinging round 30kg more than my rivals around the fast corners, which not only harms me down the straight, but handling too.

However, I hope to use my teammates car for this weekend, which has a Honda engine, so I will need to adapt to his car as quickly as possible.

Regardless of which car I will use, I will be focusing all my energy on myself and working to go as fast as I can.
