WOMEN’S CONFERENCE WEST
TWO goals from Emily Court saw Oxford Hawks ladies recover from 2-0 down to draw 2-2 at Exeter’s ISCA in their National League opener.
Hawks had to rely on goalkeeper Jess Hudson to keep ISCA at bay, but the hosts finally broke the deadlock with a well taken mid-air deflection.
Oxford raised their game after the break, with 17-year-old Briony Hearn in commnading form at full back.
But against the run of play ISCA doubled their lead from a penalty flick after Hudson was deemed to have taken the attacker’s stick before the ball.
Hawks responded well and with ten minutes left, scored from a well-worked corner, with Court taking the final touch.
Some strong work in midfield from Lucy Stewart resulted in a second corner, which was perfectly executed culminating in an equaliser for Court.
