RACING: Jarvis battles to save training career after bankruptcy order
10:00am Wednesday 11th September 2013 in Sport
Alan Jarvis, who is based at Twyford, near Bicester, faces a battle to continue his training career after being declared bankrupt over a debt owed to Doncaster Bloodstock Sales Limited.
The British Horseracing Authority are awaiting details of the order, which has been issued by Aylesbury County Court, before making a decision on whether the 74-year-old handler can carry on.
The matter relates to a number of yearlings Jarvis bought at the sales in 2005.
In a statement, his wife, Ann, said: “Mr Jarvis informed the BHA at the outset and is in discussions with them about the level of activity he will be permitted to maintain.”
A BHA spokesman said: “We will now consider how the bankruptcy affects the individual’s suitability to train.”
