FOOTBALL: Millers boss Gee in complacency warning
North Leigh manager Mark Gee is confident his players will not be complacent when they travel to Clevedon Town in Calor League Division 1 South & West tomorrow.
The Millers demolished Guildford City 8-0 on Tuesday and Gee said it was the perfect boost ahead of the trip to the west country.
“It was a tremendous win and to keep a clean sheet was also a bonus,” said Gee.
“We have won games like that before and you know we won’t do that every week.
“I think it’s easier bringing players down to earth than lifting them up when they are low on confidence. “We scored early, which helped. We pressured them high up the pitch and moved the ball around quickly.
“They weren’t terrible, but they were a young side who were naive.”
But he says the west country side will be a different proposition.
“They brought in quite a few new players in the summer and are struggling at the moment,” said Gee.
“But once the players click, then they will be a tough side to beat.
“Hopefully they don’t click until after we play them.”
Paul White, who has signed on loan from Forest Green Rovers, is likely to keep his place as first-choice keeper Sam Warrell is struggling with a back problem, while midfielder Michael Alexis is ruled out with a hamstring injury.
North Leigh’s rivals Didcot Town entertain Yate Town, while Banbury United face a trip to Redditch United in the Premier Division.
North Leigh (v Clevedon, away): from White, Warrell, Hole, M Woodley, Turk, Gunn, Caton, Sanders, Osborne-Ricketts, Walcott, McDonagh, A Woodley, Williams, Bowles, Else, Dutton-Black, Westlake.
