OXFORD United’s bright start to the season has been recognised with nominations in both the monthly divisional awards.
Chris Wilder has been shortlisted for the Sky Bet League Two manager of the month prize.
The U’s boss has guided his side to an unbeaten start and they spent most of August at the top of the table before dropping down a place below Chesterfield after Saturday.
Wilder is up against Paul Cook (Chesterfield), Gary Rowett (Burton) and Neal Ardley (AFC Wimbledon).
Alfie Potter is in the running to be named player of the month.
The 24-year-old started the season with a bang, scoring two and setting up another double in United’s stunning 4-1 win at Portsmouth on the opening day of the season.
His competition comes from midfield duo Jeff Hughes (Fleetwood) and Gary Roberts (Chesterfield), and Southend goalkeeper Daniel Bentley.
