Sean Walkinshaw Racing team (SWR) are plotting a victorious return to their ‘home’ track, Silverstone this weekend, when the junior single-seater category arrives back in Northamptonshire for the sixth BRDC Formula 4 event of the year.
Based just 45 minutes down the road in the Chipping Norton, SWR have enjoyed an outstanding debut season so far and are determined to add to their impressive tally of three race wins this weekend.
Karting graduates Jack Barlow and Matty Graham have both tasted the victor’s champagne already this year and go into rounds 16, 17 and 18 holding fourth and seventh position, respectively, in the drivers’ standings.
The highlight so far for SWR was the remarkable one-two finish achieved last time out at Brands Hatch, where Graham headed home Barlow, a result which made SWR’S squad the first in BRDC Formula 4 to achieve the coveted feat.
“Brands Hatch was a great weekend for the whole team,” said Walkinshaw, “The one-two result was absolutely fantastic and a real reward for all of the hard work and effort everyone has been putting into SWR’s maiden season.
“We can’t wait to be back at Silverstone. It’s always good to be racing close to home and having been so strong there, we’re feeling confident.”
Chinese driver Zou Sirui, who completes their line-up, is seeking his first top-ten finish of the year.
