Oxford RL coach Tony Benson has urged his players to bounce back from the loss to Hemel Stags, and start to gain some form ahead of a potential play-off push.

Benson’s side visit the North Wales Crusaders Glyndwr University Racecourse Stadium, Wrexham, on Sunday (2.30pm), knowing that if they avoid defeat, they will secure a top-six finish and a play-off spot.

The Crusaders, who will be looking to do the double over Oxford after winning 12-4 at Iffley Road earlier in the season, need the three points to keep automatic promotion in their own hands.

Benson, who has no fresh injury concerns, said: “The minimum we want to get out of the game is a bonus point, but obviously we want the win which will ensure us of a play-off spot.

“They are the team to beat, and are talented across the park. “We were close with them last time at our place.

Reflecting on the 30-16 defeat at Hemel two weeks ago, he added: “I think our game came on and we were much better than at Rochdale a few weeks ago.

“Defensively there were a couple of bad decisions made by a couple of individuals, but as a team we defended quite well.”
